This year was my first time attending Apple Fest. Last year we were moving into New Cumberland on that very day. I was informed from the time I started this blog that last year the Apple Fest was held in downtown New Cumberland. I can only speak to my own experience this year where it was held in the borough park. It was such a beautiful day for the Apple Fest and it was great to see the large amount of people that came out for this event. From the time we arrived that morning the air was filled with all things apple and we could not wait to get a fresh baked apple dumpling. We met our friend and his daughter there and found there was a lot for children to do. The activities ranged from pony rides to treasure hunts, face painting, and utilizing the playground at the park.
As we walked around it was nice to see all of the different vendors offering everything from fall crafts to anything you could possibly imagine made out of apples. You could enjoy apple cider, cider donuts, applesauce, apple butter and many other delicious treats. This was also a good chance for all of the local artisans to display their assorted crafts. The New Cumberland Town Band entertained the crowd throughout the day with music in the middle of the park. A lot of our friends came out to meet us there and expressed that they enjoy coming out every year to support New Cumberland and the Apple Festival. It was very nice to see such a large crowd of people come out to enjoy the day and all of the things that the Apple Festival had to offer. I highly recommend attending next year if you haven't yet. Also, please park in town to support all of our local businesses as well!!!
My name is Christy and I moved to the West Shore ten years ago and into New Cumberland in September 2012. I really enjoy living here and getting to know the community better every day. I enjoy spending time with family, friends and my dog.
