When driving down the lane to Pleasant View Farm Bed and Breakfast Inn you begin to feel relaxed due to the beautiful surroundings. You pass the lake, see the barn up on the hill with a horse in the pasture, and make your way down to the house. Upon entering the main house you can clearly see the hard work that Nancy and her husband Mike put into making their home a true getaway for their guests. The original house was an old log cabin/farmhouse that was built in the early 1700s. The McKinney's converted their home into a bed and breakfast after making six additions to the property. They opened for business in September 2010.
In the main house guests can book a bridal shower, baby shower, or small wedding. Nancy will plan with the guests to make their event as special and unique as possible. Brides can take over the property a few days before the big day to decorate, set up, and have rehearsal dinner there if they would like. Small weddings can take place in the Grand Room of the Main House. Larger weddings can take place at the gazebo down by the lake or up in the barn. The maximum number of wedding guests is 75. Mayor DJ Landis has partnered with Pleasant View to officiate the weddings if desired.
The Carriage House where the guest rooms are located are separate from the main house. Each room has a theme. The Gettysburg Room has a historical feel. The Lancaster Room gives a nod to the Pennsylvania Dutch. The Hershey Room has a lot of brown in the decor and is the largest of all three. Each room has a separate entrance, a working fireplace, and kitchenette with coffee bar. After a good night's sleep guests arrive in the grand room for breakfast the next morning. All of the amenities ensure that Pleasant View Farm Bed and Breakfast Inn provides that "charming elegance in a country setting" as stated on their brochure.
My name is Christy and I moved to the West Shore ten years ago and into New Cumberland in September 2012. I really enjoy living here and getting to know the community better every day. I enjoy spending time with family, friends and my dog.
